Main Street Safe Streets Project

Design and public support for a “road diet” for Main Street in Little Rock. The result was a street which was changed from a divider to a seam that pulled the community together. The addition of bike lanes and moderation of vehicular speeds (allowing pedestrians safer crossing) put emphasis on alternative forms of transportation. This significant street connects the central business district and Creative Corridor of downtown with the South Main Community (SoMa), Pettaway Park, and Governor’s Mansion Historic District neighborhood. Ed received the Main Street Arkansas Special Service Award in 2014 for the Project.
