2014 Main Street Arkansas Award
Born in Dallas, Texas, Ed received his Bachelor of Science of Architecture and Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. His interests in urban design and preservation began during his graduate studies. This was followed by a position as research assistant for the planning study that in zoning changes for the Oak Lawn area of Dallas. These same interests lured him to Arkansas in 1993 to work on the preservation, adaptive re-use and master plan of the Bath Houses in Hot Springs.

He is currently a board member of SoMa and past President of Tree Streets. He and his wife, Laura, are completing restoration of their ca. 1890 home in downtown Little Rock.

Design Philosophy

Explore design solutions in response to the project program.  Use of visualization tools to uncover new insights, then communicate those insights with solutions to the client.  This visualization helps to convey quickly.

A holistic approach that integrates buildings with our neighborhoods, communities and cities.  This approach not only relies upon more sustainable buildings, but looks to improving better means of transportation, land uses, community involvement, and education.

Ed has managed the development of projects that have resulted in 5 national awards and numerous State and Gulf State Awards.

For the restoration of the Frank Gibb House.

Service to Youth Award 1993 Gymnastics Association of Texas

Director of the Texas Gymnastics Conference for 18 years until 2006.
